Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy.
Add the confectioners' sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed until the sugar is fully incorporated into the butter.
Add the milk and vanilla extract, and beat on medium-high speed until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
If the frosting is too thick, add more milk, a tablespoon at a time, until it reaches the desired consistency. If it is too thin, add more confectioners' sugar, a tablespoon at a time.
Use the frosting immediately to frost cakes or cupcakes, or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Note: You can also add food coloring to the frosting to make it colorful and fun, or add flavorings such as cocoa powder, espresso, or almond extract to create different variations of the frosting.
